# How to Search the Stock Image Library

## Maxa gives you access to a built-in stock library so you can search for photos using keywords, without needing to leave your design. This is useful whether you're replacing a placeholder image or adding new visuals to your design.

***Replacing an Existing Photo***

1. Click on the photo placeholder in your design. The media panel will open.

2. In the search bar, type keywords for the image or GIF you're looking for.

3. Select an image from the results. It will automatically plug into the[Upload Zone](https://support.maxadesigns.com/knowledge/how-can-i-create-an-upload-zone?hsLang=en).

4. If you've previously uploaded your own images, you'll find them under the **My Uploads** tab.

***Adding an Additional Photo***

If you want to add a new photo without replacing an existing placeholder:

1. Click in an empty space outside the template first, to make sure no photo is currently selected.
2. Follow the same search steps above to find and select your image.
3. The new photo will be added on top of your design as its own element, rather than plugging into an existing Upload Zone.

*If you'd like to **add an additional photo** and not replace the existing placeholder, then make sure to click in the empty space outside of the template to ensure no photos are selected.*

When choosing a new photo, it will be added on top of the design.
